A starting line, not a verdict.

This is the first month of the Singapore Watch Index. Every tracked reference’s median asking price this month becomes its starting point, so the index reads 100. From November, it shows how those asking prices move against this month.

The index tracks 85 references and 2,338 asking-price listings: 72 Rolex, 8 Tudor, 2 Cartier, 2 Omega and 1 Patek Philippe. That mix is not a choice of brand. It follows a published rule, and it reflects what Singapore dealers list. More references join as their listings grow.

The figures describe what Singapore dealers ask, not what collectors pay, and they are information only, not advice. We count listings for each reference and publish a median only when a reference has at least three listings. Draw your own conclusions; the method below shows exactly how each figure is made.

“An asking price is a starting point for a conversation. It is not the whole story.”

What the listings can — and can’t — tell us.

Condition, service history, accessories, and availability all shape a listing. Median asking prices give a useful reference point, but cannot capture every watch’s story.

We remove duplicates, exclude non-Singapore dealers, and require at least three listings per reference. Coverage: Thin is 3–4 listings, Fair 5–9, Good 10 or more. Thin medians move more on a single listing. Read the methodology before making a comparison.
